"Verily!
In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alternation
of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding."
(3:190)
"Indeed
your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth
in Six Days, and then He Istawa (rose over) the Throne (really
in a manner that suits His Majesty). He brings the night as
a cover over the day, seeking it rapidly, and (He created)
the sun, the moon, the stars subjected to His Command. Surely,
His is the Creation and Commandment. Blessed be Allah, the
Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!"
(7:54)
"Verily,
in the alternation of the night and the day and in all that
Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are Ayat (proofs,
evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) for
those people who keep their duty to Allah, and fear Him much."
(10:6)
"And
it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm
mountains and rivers and of every kind of fruits He made Zawjain
Ithnain (two in pairs - may mean two kinds or it may mean:
of two sorts, e.g. black and white, sweet and sour, small
and big, etc.) He brings the night as a cover over the day.
Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences,
lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect."
(13:3)
"And
He has made the sun and the moon, both constantly pursuing
their courses, to be of service to you; and He has made the
night and the day, to be of service to you." (14:33)
"And
He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession,
for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude."
(25:62)
"He
has created the heavens and the earth with truth. He makes
the night to go in the day and makes the day to go in the
night. And He has subjected the sun and the moon. Each running
(on a fixed course) for an appointed term. Verily, He is the
All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving." (39:5)
"And
from among His Signs are the night and the day, and the sun
and the moon. Prostrate not to the sun nor to the moon, but
prostrate to Allah Who created them, if you (really) worship
Him." (41:37)
"And
in the alternation of night and day, and the provision (rain)
that Allah sends down from the sky, and revives therewith
the earth after its death, and in the turning about of the
winds (i.e. sometimes towards the east or north, and sometimes
towards the south or west etc., sometimes bringing glad tidings
of rain etc., and sometimes bringing the torment), are signs
for a people who understand." (45:5)
