Bismi Allahi alr-Rahmani alr-Rahimi
In
the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
 |
||
| 1. | ''Al-hakumu alt-takathuru | |
| The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you, | ||
 |
||
| 2. | Hatta zurtumu al-maqabira | |
| Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). | ||
 |
||
| 3. | Kalla sawfa ta-'lamuna
|
|
| Nay! You shall come to know! | ||
 |
||
| 4. | Thumma kalla sawfa ta-'lamuna | |
| Again, Nay! You shall come to know! | ||
 |
||
| 5. | Kalla law ta-’lamuna 'ilma al-yaqini
|
|
| Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things). | ||
 |
||
| 6. | La-tarunna al-jahima | |
| Verily, You shall see the blazing Fire (Hell)! | ||
 |
||
| 7. | Thumma
la-tarawunnaha 'ayna al-yaqini
|
|
| And again, you shall see it with certainty of sight! | ||
 |
||
| 8. | Thumma
latus-''alunna yawma-''idhin 'ani aln-na
'imi
|
|
| Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! | ||
