Walt tini waalz zaytuni |

By the fig, and the olive, |
| |
|
|
| 2. |
Wa-turi sinina |
| |
By mount Sinai, |
| |
|
|
| 3. |
Wa-hadha al-baladi al-“amini |
| |
And by this city of security (Makkah), |
| |
|
|
| 4. |
Laqad khalaqna al-“insana fi “ahsani taqwimin |
| |
Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idris (Enoch)], |
| |
|
|
| 5. |
Thumma radadnahu "asfala safilina |
| |
Then We reduced him to the lowest of the low, |
| |
|
|
| 6. |
“Illa al-ladhina “amanu wa-’amilu als-salihati falahum “ajrun ghayru mamnunin |
| |
Save those who believe (in Islamic monotheism) and do righteous deeds, Then they shall have a reward without end (Paradise). |

| 7. |
Fama yukadhdhibuka ba-’du bi ald-dini |
| |
Then what (or who) causes you (O disbelievers) to deny the Recompense (i.e. Day of Resurrection)? |

| 8. |
“Alaysa Allahu bi-“Ahkami al-Hakimina |
| |
Is not Allah the best of judges? |
|
|
|
